Letter Press Printing as an Artform

A great (very) short documentary about letter press printing as a modern art form. John Kristensen, the proprietor of Firefly Press in Somerville Massachusetts, talks about the physicality of the letter press: “You are dealing with physical stuff. Letters are things, not pictures of things…”

    Beautiful quote at the end:

“It will die, eventually, because people will no longer remember how to do it [but] that’s okay. I’m only responsible for my watch. I’m thankful every day that I get to do this.”
